Career Cafe #2: Culinary Arts, Tourism, and Hospitality
Dear Community Partner,
Here at Purcell Marian High School, our mission is to cultivate the best in each other for the benefit of all. One of the ways we do that is through our 3-E Guarantee, which states that each PM student will be enrolled in post-secondary education, enlisted in the Armed Services, or employed in a meaningful career upon graduation. In order to fulfill the 3-E Guarantee, it is crucial for our students to learn about as many career opportunities as possible.
Thank you so much for bringing your knowledge and expertise regarding your chosen career field to our students through a Career Cafe event. It truly takes a village, and we are so lucky that you are a part of ours!
The majority of this event will be set up so that the students can mingle and chat with you to learn about your career. Here are the bullet points we are hoping you will be able to talk to the students about:
the job you have within your career field
the education/training required for your job/career
the path you took to get to your present position
your professional goals for the future
what kind of interests, strengths, and personal qualities are required for someone in your position
challenges you faced getting to where you are now
advice you would give someone interested in your field/job
Our students are bright, talented, and curious, so we are sure they will have additional questions as well!
