Purcell Marian High School proudly recognizes the Class of 2023 Praestans Awards winners.
Presented to the senior who has displayed selflessness to the school and the community during their four years at Purcell Marian.
Class of 2023 Recipient: Zionna Wilson
Zionna Wilson was a Cavalier Student Ambassador and capped off her years of service at the Castle as a senior leader on Purcell Marian's service trip to Grundy, Virginia, this spring. She was also a leader on the Cavalier Volleyball and Bowling squads. Zionna is a graduate of Nativity School in Pleasant Ridge and will study nursing at Grand Canyon University.
Presented to the senior who has served the school and community through a commitment to their faith by leading retreats, mentoring groups, choir, participating in mass, and helping their fellow students.
Class of 2023 Recipient: Remington Grant
Remington Grant is a National Honor Society member who was a leader within the Marianist LIFE team. He was a member of the mass leadership team as a lector and performed music during school masses. He was a varsity letter winner on the Cavalier football squad. He is an Alliance Academy of Cincinnati graduate who will study Business Administration at the University of Cincinnati.
Presented to the seniors who embody what it truly means to be a Purcell Marian Cavalier. These students exemplify our school expectations of respectfulness, responsibility, leadership, and pride in themselves and Purcell Marian.
Class of 2023 Recipient: Nicohl Dicks and J'Shon Jeffries
Nicohl Dicks is a National Honor Society member and finished number seven in the Class of 2023. She was the Student Council President and a multi-sport athlete, including a member of the Girls Basketball team that won two State Championships and reached three Final Fours in her time with the team. Nicohl transferred to Purcell Marian during her sophomore year after moving to Cincinnati with her family. She received the prestigious Flyer Promise scholarship and will study nursing at the University of Dayton.
J'Shon Jeffries finished number six in the Class of 2023. He was the Student Council Secretary and a leader on Purcell Marian's football team that made three playoff appearances in his time on the squad. He also was a senior leader on Purcell Marian's service trip to Grundy, Virginia. He is an Alliance Academy of Cincinnati graduate and will take advantage of Purcell Marian's Career Initiatives Program by joining the IUOE Local 18 Apprenticeship Program.
Purcell Marian High School is a Catholic co-ed high school in the Marianist tradition serving a diverse population of students since 1928. Partnering with the Society of Mary, Purcell Marian was founded to teach faith and prepare graduates for post-secondary professional opportunities in our ever-advancing world. Purcell Marian is an authorized International Baccalaureate World School, which challenges students to ask questions, think critically, and develop research skills to help them later in life. We measure our success on our 3E Guarantee, which guarantees all graduating seniors are either Employed, Enlisted, or Enrolled at the time of graduation.
