Purcell Marian Seeks Applicants for Director of Finance

The Director of Finance is responsible for the oversight of all of the school’s financial and human resource functions, including budgeting, financial analysis/reporting. This role serves as a key member of the leadership under the supervision of the Principal/CEO. The position is also responsible for HR compliance and benefit administration. Additionally, the Director of Finance/HR is also responsible for the oversight of all state and federal funding in the form of various programs and grants that support school operations.
Reports to Principal/CEO
Supervision of Business Office Associate
Finance, Accounting & Budgeting
- In partnership with the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees, provide strategic financial leadership to ensure sustainability
- Supervision of the business office team
- Management of the general ledger and all financial reporting
- Management of the school’s banking and financial relationships
- Management of all merchant accounts, including related POS systems in the Spirit Shop and other end points
- Management of all financial analysis and related performance metrics, including trending and forecasting
- Coordination and management of the fiscal year close with the school’s designated CPA/accounting firm
- Development of an annual operating budget
- Proactive communication with various departments regarding budgeting/performance/financial goals
- Manage the annual budget import process including a monthly forecast and monthly reports
- Cash flow management, financial analytics, and predictive analysis based on operational needs
- Assist with the administration of the school’s endowment
- Administration and end user support for RenWeb, FACTS, FinalForms, and Quick Books
- Assist with financial aid and tuition award decisions in coordination with Admissions, Development, and the Principal/CEO
- Develop and manage process improvements across the organization
- Capital improvement management and asset tracking
Human Resource and Compliance
- Management of all payroll related operations
- 401K plan administration (as it pertains to the school)
- Human Resources oversight, including administration of related policies, handbooks, and documentation
- Administration of the school’s healthcare, FSA, vision, and dental plans (as they pertain to the school)
- Risk Management, liability insurance administration, inspection verifications
- Familiarity with applicable federal and state laws and regulations
- Administration of all Workers Compensation claims and student accident claims reports
- ACA compliance data and reporting
- Compilation of quarterly Workers Compensation and Unemployment data reports
- Management of teacher contracts and staff employment
- Oversight of safe environment compliance
- Responsible for Human Resources and administration of general benefit package
- Direct Virtus and Safe Site Coordinator function/reporting
- Insurance – Worker’s Compensation, personal injury, property damage, etc.
State of Ohio Scholarships and other Funding Opportunities
- Oversight of all State Scholarship programs (EdChoice, Jon Peterson, and Autism Scholarships)
- Oversight of the school’s eRate activities
- Compile and manage the annual Administrative Cost Reimbursement report
- Oversee the Non-Public consultation process for state and federal funding and manage the school’s Auxiliary Service, Title I, Title IIA, IDEA, and Title IV budgets as directed by the Associate Principal
Cafeteria Operations
- Oversee food service vendor
Contracts/Risk Mgmt.
- Keeps a copy of all contracts
- Includes dances, retreats, events, etc.
- Oversight of all contracts related to the school related to services and vendor agreements
- File insurance claim forms when necessary
- Secure necessary verification of coverage when school uses other facilities and is required to prove coverage.

- As assigned by Principal/CEO
Membership
- Administrative Team – weekly meeting
- Board of Trustees support role – meets six times annually
- Finance Committee support role – meets monthly or on an as needed basis
- Archdiocesan Business Managers – meets three times (Sept, Dec, March)
- Faculty Meetings - suggested to attend
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with nonprofit organizations
- Experience in secondary education
- Understanding of the philosophy of Mission within a Catholic organization
- Proficiency in Quick Books
- Knowledge of business principles within strategic planning and resource allocation
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related filed. CPA or MBA highly desired.
- Management, organizational, and problem solving skills
