May 5 is #GivingTuesdayNow, a new global day of giving and unity in emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

Like so many others, we are working hard to ensure that our students, staff and community experience nothing but the best from Purcell Marian High School during these uncertain times. Moving to meaningful online learning, despite the challenges that came with it, has been a success for our students and teachers. Our students have “face-time” every day with teachers and access to any support services they would normally have during regular school time. Thanks to the dedicated effort from our faculty and staff, the attendance rate during online learning is 99.3%!

It is important to understand that every single family at Purcell Marian, regardless of scholarship (state or other), is required to pay a significant piece of their cost of education. Please know that I believe firmly that every family needs to invest time, energy, and financial responsibility into their student’s education. However, COVID-19 has created a massive financial ripple in the lives of so many in our community. Many of our families have been directly affected through furloughs, job loss, new expenses associated with the need to financially help other family members and other extenuating circumstances. Simply put, there just isn’t enough money available to pay all the bills and to ensure that tuition will be paid in full.

The person that I have become today, would not have been possible without the experience I had as a student at Purcell Marian. Perhaps you feel the same way. So, I need your help! Please help me ensure that we keep the heartbeat of Purcell Marian beating strongly so we can continue to guarantee this wonderful education to all of our students. The changes that we have initiated over the past three years have brought us amazing new teachers and students with a strong academic focus. Our families are invested in Purcell Marian and the new, powerful programming that we needed is in place and working. Please help me guarantee that we can continue with fueling all of the positive dynamics that we have in place. A new and very bold team of educators and administrators is in place fueling all the positive dynamics at Purcell Marian. As a community, we cannot allow this global pandemic to negatively impact the changes we have made nor any student’s ability to remain at Purcell Marian
