Who Are the Teachers Behind Our Students’ Success?

December 19, 2024

When alumni gather for reunions, or stroll through the halls of Purcell Marian, or reminisce about their time as students, one of their most cherished memories is the profound impact a teacher had on their lives.

While the faces and names of teachers have changed throughout our nearly 100-year history, the powerful impact of teachers remains the same.

We have spotlighted several remarkable teachers previously who have inspired and profoundly influenced our students' lives.

Revisit their stories and their remarkable work:

Mr. Jamar Mosley

Co-Director of Athletics
Marianist EXCEL Director
Girls Head Basketball Coach

“The way to do anything, is the way you do everything. If you are going to do anything, do it right.”

Señora Emma O’Connor

Hispanic Outreach Coordinator

“Our families are dedicated to their kids accessing a Catholic education and we aren’t like every other school - and that’s why I’m here.”

Mr. Joey Versoza

“When a critique is over and I close those gallery doors after hearing the passion and brilliance of these students, I believe with all my heart that we are succeeding in helping students learn to listen to one another and accept that one point of view isn’t the only point of view.”

Mr. Joey Groeber

Religion Teacher

“Don’t be afraid of the vastness that God has to offer. Let God lead you. Give Him that small yes every morning.”

Mr. Chris Wilke

“We are redefining the educational experience for Purcell Marian students.”

Ms. Angela Hicks

“I love that some people said ‘oops, I screwed up, let me start over.’ That is the correct thing to do! If you know you messed up, it is 100% okay to start over.”
