The dream becomes a reality. Purcell Marian plays the first game at Staubach Stadium on August 18, 2023, in front of a sold-out crowd and countless past and present PM luminaries. Roger Staubach throws out the ceremonial first pass, and the Cavaliers beat Deer Park, 40-22, to officially open the stadium.

Purcell Marian celebrates the realization of our dream with a donor appreciation dinner on Thursday, August 17. Roger Staubach steps into the stadium bearing his name for the first time, and plays catch with current PM football players. 

The flags are raised and dedicated at Staubach Stadium for the first time on Monday, August 14. The flag poles and flags were a gift of the Purcell Class of 1970.

The stadium scoreboard is installed and tested for the first time. The Farmer Family Foundation and Cintas contributed over $300,000 to install the top-of-the-line technology.

Work on the Carl & Linda DeBlasio Main Entrance is completed.

The final phase of construction begins as work on the stadium grandstands is started, including the Robers Family Student Section.
